Ненаписанное письмо

Каждый вечер она садится к столу. Настольная лампа. Круг света. Чистый лист.

Она начинает письмо.

Здравствуй. Да, непременно. Это пожелание здоровья. Пусть он будет здоров. Что же дальше? А дальше сплошные неясности. Удивительно. Слова порхают вокруг её головы, как бабочки. Мерцают, искрятся. А пойманные и втиснутые в строку блекнут и выцветают, как будто с их крылышек безжалостно стёрта пыльца.

И о чём писать?  О любви? А чем заслужила любовь, чтобы о ней писать? Нематериальна. Эфемерна. Недолговечна. Является, когда вздумается. И уходит – когда захочет.

Карьера. Деньги. Власть. Слава. Вот они куда выгоднее и предпочтительнее. Они стоят жертвы. Надменная деловая толпа, со строгими взорами, против взбалмошной девчонки, лепечущей вздор: вы не понимаете… я его люблю… я ни о чём его не прошу… ни любить, ни вернуться… я просто молюсь… пусть ему везёт, пусть он будет счастлив, потому что мне холодно, когда он грустит… Это глупо и неправильно и давно должно угаснуть, но всё горит и жжётся…

Вы не понимаете… есть он и есть – все остальные… и если не он, то какая разница – кто? И потому никто.

Она смотрит на чистый лист с единственным словом «Здравствуй» и грустно склоняет голову. Одному богу ведомо, когда умрёт эта ненадобная любовь. Он спокоен. Наверное счастлив. И ему не нужно знать, что творится в её душе.

Она берёт лист в руки и с привычной обречённостью подносит его к пламени свечи.

Как будто любовь может сгореть.

Любовь уйдёт. Наверное. Потом…

Пока же нам придётся разлучиться.

Я не признаюсь, что душа сочится,

Что сердце жёлтым падает листом.

В предательстве себя не упрекай.

Июнь в слезах, но в благодарность маю –

Сама тебя от сердца отнимаю,

Забудь меня к зиме, как Герду – Кай.

Всё будет так, как хочешь. Растворюсь.

Уйду из снов твоих, где нет мне места.

И никогда ни взглядом и ни жестом,

Души твоей, остывшей, не коснусь.

Не позову в осиротевший дом,

Где кот мурлычет, на коленях греясь.

Где я живу, не веря, но надеясь:

Любовь уйдёт. Наверное. Потом…
